Do you remember the scene at the end of Dr Strangelove, where the generals and politicans are entertaining fantasies of living in vast underground cities, surrounded by beautiful women? And the madness of the scene is this is a plan that should have started at least two decades before?
That’s what the article you read reminds me of.
I used to think that the massive number of people virtue signaling for Ukraine would dry up as soon as “borgir expensive now.”
But sadly, I’m just convinced that TV race will be told to “blame Putin” for the price increases, and they will unquestioningly believe it and it will just further their lust for war to “get cheap borgir back.”
I also thought along those same lines but I don’t think it’s too late. Gas is really the only thing that’s shot up and it’s still at levels we’ve seen before.
