It was 2001, we were almost all Blue-Pilled, save Mr. Balogh (who may be a Millenial?, but you get the gist of what I’m saying).

A small country like the UK should be able to easily do this, especially if it just applies to just new cars being sold. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if it happened a couple years earlier than that. It all depends on how fast they can ramp up EV production, which is nearly doubling every year. You could drive from London to Scotland without charging once in a Model 3. UK has no real good petrol resource, it definitely needs to invest in electrifying their transportation ASAP.

In the context of LOTR calling the New Middle Earthlings “nigger elves” is actually vital so as to distinguish “black elves” from “dark elves”.

Honestly, apart from what I mentioned above, I only watch any new Wes Anderson, or maybe P.T. Anderson. I liked The French Dispatch. Haters can cram it with walnuts. Isle of Dogs is just fun. I honestly don’t see how you can’t like Brawl in CB 99 (That one slipped my mind. HIGHLY recommended) and Dragged. Sure, Vince had the black girlfriend in Dragged (very minor point, I’ve learned to let that slide, when done subtly) but I can’t remember the last time I saw a film where a white kid was attacked by a black kid, and the parents talked about it as a racial attack. Mel does the crime to get money to move away from Niggers. And sure, the black guy is the only one left alive, at the end. The film… Read more »

White anti-racists live in a different moral universe than we do. Our moral universe is one in which truth is the pre-eminent moral value. The moment anyone accepts anti-racism as a moral value is the moment that person becomes a liar. Because sooner or later, whether by omission or commission, that person is going to lie in order to not appear racist. No man can serve two masters. Claims such as poverty causes crime or poor education funding causes poor academic outcome.… Read more »

Tolkien was quite clear about his dislike of allegory.

Plus Tolkien was not a political animal; he was a conservative English Catholic of his era who didn’t center his worldview on politics and as a result had some naive political takes especially on the JQ.

Tolkien was concerned with history, culture, religion, languages and myths. LOTR is a heroic romance, not a traditional novel and certainly not an allegory.

I watched the new series, Reacher (Jack Reacher), on Amazon over the weekend which featured a lead white male actor (war vet) and a lead white female actress (police officer). Unfortunately their sidekick was a black Police Captain and the bad guys were white and hispanic. I ignored that. The series was still good.

Electric cars work dudes, they are fine. Tesla has MILLIONS of backorders and can barely keep up with demand. There is not a single electric car out today that gets less than 200 miles range. The smallest Tesla ranged car is the model 3 standard that still gets 260 miles. A 250kw supercharger can give you up to 150 mile range in approximately 10-15 minutes for less cost than an equivalent gas powered car (they are coming out with 350+ kw chargers too). You can also charge up from home for even cheaper. Do you have a gas station at… Read more »

Sunbeams come from the sun, as in the sky, not from cucumbers. You should get your teachers fired because they sure didn’t do good job teaching you. I guess the swamp isn’t a very educational place. Electric grid will be fine. Very good investment to go with EVs. Plenty of back-up potential form even green sources. Our grid will get exponentially cleaner very quickly. Fossil fuels can be used intermittedly as back-up at first and then will steadily disappear as a combustion fuel source. Even things like Asphalt could be replaced by better options in time.

The biggest problem for me is the computerisation. I don’t think electric cars are inherently bad, although as I understand it they are more environmentally destructive to produce because of the need to mine lithium, but I don’t want a car full of computers. A mechanical engine can be maintained with a box of tools and some knowhow. If a chip goes, you’re just fucked.

Computerization is in every vehicle now, unfortunately. i don’t mind a lot of it I just don’t like the fact it communicates with the outside world and could potentially take over your car. I also wish the car could at least run without the electronics on, you know, if the computer goes down you can still drive.

Electric cars could be made incredibly simple, like 10-20 moving parts simple. You can also fill them up from home, off solar and wind power too. A great Zombie apocalypses vehicle if it is built right.

Electric cars are still somewhat in the luxury zone of cars, so they add lots of technology to lure in the rich buyers with fancy add-ons like self driving and all the other shit. Also, since Tesla is always trying to optimize its fleet (which it is doing a great job of) it does track its cars. I don’t like it, but Tesla is pushing the technology and scale of the electric cars so that is good. The cheaper models should be much simpler. A lot of tracking going on in cars today also deals with warranty/liability issues. I remember… Read more »

Haven’t listened to the episode yet, I’ll say personally I’m not inherently against electric vehicles as some might be based off mostly their conservative priors; however, as things currently stand my understanding is that both the manufacturing of parts(particularly the battery) and the actual generation of electricity is less efficient than standard vehicles and that probably won’t change anytime soon. As you say in a future where nuclear energy has been adopted perhaps such a thing is feasible. I don’t think there’s any reason to be particularly invested one way or the other, but as it currently stands I think… Read more »

“…that both manufacturing of parts…generation of electricty…is less efficient” Absolutely wrong. This is a myth/rumor being spread around by the anti-green people that is equivalent to the “diversity is strength because of tacos” arguments coming from the left. It is true that the upfront energy cost for manufacturing is more, but the efficiency of an EV, the regenerative braking etc makes up for it in just the first 3-5,000 miles of driving; and that includes added energy costs of building aluminum frames, which the Model 3 doesn’t even have. Power generation in large thermal plants on the grid is WAY… Read more »

Wind and solar is way cheaper than nuclear. Wind and solar, as a fuel, is free and they don’t take an entire army of people to run, like a nuclear power plant. In the time it took to build one nuclear power plant you could build 5 times the power from wind and solar. I am a fan of nuclear though and think we should expand it for baseload power, keep it at about 20% of the grid while increasing the grid for EVs etc. This should actually help expand renewables, as well, while reducing the need for grid scale… Read more »

Yep, liberals turn every idea gay eventually. Wood should be locally sourced, and seasoned well, then burned for heat. It should not be used for electrical generation except for emergency back-up, or at least in co-generation plants that also supply heat. Wind and Solar alone could easily power everything. To get to 100% would require significant energy storage thou (difficult but not impossible), but if other things like Green hydrogen, ethanol, biofuels, and even hydro where used as back up, plus a healthy 20-25% nuclear, than I think it would work fairly easy (over a couple decades). Newer wind power… Read more »

What is BlackRock going to do about it? And how would it be any different than any other car manufacturer?

I don’t agree with every stance that westhegreat took, but I do want to defend him. I’ve owned since before most people had them. My 2017 Model 3 goes 320 miles, and not 120. Battery technology keeps improving too. And if you’ve ever ridden in a Model S that goes from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, it’s fucking thrilling. Heating through the HVAC doesn’t take any substantial energy (the battery, like an ICE, keeps itself warm when in use) You guys just sound ignorant. But if I had to do long hauls daily, yeah, the recharging time is a huge downer.… Read more »

So, what if one were to park their electric car on the street? So, they’d have to run an extension cord across the lawn?

Ya, you literally could. Or you could just go to a supercharger. Most people have dedicated garages/parking spaces that they could easily install a level 2 charger. Do you have a gas station or a refinery in your yard for your ICE car? BTW, the grid is everywhere, so even now there are more places to “fill electric’ cars up than there are gas stations, albeit a little slower. Supercharger stations are very easy to build and they will be EVERYWHERE in the near future. So zero problems. You can also do things like car-to-car charging (if you got stranded).… Read more »

used to see a number of threads on 4chan that were like ~”take the bike-pill anon!” or “imagine being a car-cel,” “gas-cucks btfo”
Im pretty sure theyve been trying to seed the idea of self-driving busses replacing personal vehicle ownership, which mean social credit will ban dissidents from this only option.

these would show up alongside the “why arent you vegan?” :”theres no ethical reason to eat meat” “vegan gains thread” threads that preceded the jewish lab=grown meat push.

That slap Micheal Corleone gave Kate when she told him that it was an abortion was epic. You will never see a man slap a woman like that anywhere. It was one hell of a slap to a woman’s face. Like God came down from heaven and guided his hand

Godfather II is my favorite movie of all time. Once upon a time Al Pacino was one hell of an actor.

I have one of those cars that turns off when you come to a stop and restarts when you start to move. I hate it. It is incredibly nerve wracking constantly paranoid that starter just won’t roll over at a traffic light

There’s no way to go to electric cars for everyone not just due to limitations on battery technology but due to the severe limitations of the existing national electrical infrastructure. Since TPTB aren’t upgrading our electrical infrastructure, the conversion to 100% electric cars isn’t happening.

Upgrading electrical infrastructure should be cheaper than continuing to upgrade and maintain the fossil fuel infrastructure. So, according to you we are fucked either way, I guess diversity isn’t a strength. Someone should send the beaners out there to fix this problem and give us that strength we are all expecting. However, if you’re rural and at least have a little land, like 1/2 acre or so, than you should be able to easily power your house and put a reasonable amount of power into your EV with solar panels and/or small residential turbines. A small solar farm on about… Read more »

Pushing anti racism at the Super Bowl is ridiculous overkill as American white sportsball fans swallowed the anti racist poison pill in sports back in the 1950s.

They push anti racism propaganda much harder in Europe since in the UK open racism against black players existed until recently, and still exists in Eastern Europe today.
