One of the funniest early TDS moments was the death panel was on the economics of Oz. They are seeking the emerald city, green=cash. And the yellow brick road= the gold standard. The road starts with a spiral of red and yellow bricks, representing the choice between communism and capitalism.
Then it was pointed out author Baum was not in fact a Jew and the discussion was promptly dropped.
