Generally branded drug names (particularly the newer ones) bear no resemblance to the chemical compound names. There are entire marketing teams in pharma companies to come up with them. They tend to be relatively short, not more than three syllables and often contain strong consonants like ‘K’, ‘X’ and ‘Z’. Assumably the main goal is memorability as it will make you choose their drug over a competitor’s
