There’s an entire MOS for truck drivers in the military that can get you a CDL. Even if you don’t your unit can train you to the same level and with your commander’s signature you can get a CDL.

“Large & Tall”….. lol. Practically non-existent in America, I swear. My whole life this has been an issue. And “as a woman”, which I am, being like 6ft tall and not a stick…. It sucks and usually costs extra for anything that is sold in a tall size. Women’s clothes also often have the same issue with the shortness of sleeves and whatnot. But one difference between men no women’s clothes that I have noticed- women’s stuff always shrinks in the damn dryer while the majority of men’s stuff does not seem to… so. I can’t do puttanesca, carbonara and bolognese are my poison. I know anchovies are good for you but I can’t stand them lol. I prefer white bait or other small fish.

I have a Class A CDL and please allow me to explain why the plan to use National guard soldiers as truckers is retarded and won’t work. 1. Most National Guard soldiers aren’t truckers and it would take weeks at a minimum to get more soldiers the basic rudimentary training needed to drive a big rig. Rushing someone through a program to drive a rig that weighs tens of thousands of pounds more than their daddy’s mmbig truck is a disaster waiting to happen. 2. Not happening from what I see. I do M&A for a big accounting firm. You should see what these fucking lumber salespeople are making right now. Last company I did for lumber had multiple people making 6 figures of commission on sales over the last 12 months.

Pretty sure the military is exempt from CDL licensing. That doesn’t mean they know how to drive them though. It can’t be too many who could step up. I was interested in taking the A course but being a straight White male there were no grants for me, and I didn’t have 10K (plus six weeks’ expenses set aside) to spend on the course even though the course was exempted from the shutdowns as essential by our governor. 🛻
There are road test exemptions in most states for obtaining a CDL if you can prove military experience, from my quick searching.
I don’t know how they would be treated if they started hauling for commercial purposes. Maybe in that case they would be required—seems crazy to have the military hauling for private interests regardless.

Military Vehicle Operators – Operators of military vehicles for military purposes are exempt from obtaining a CDL.
