I don’t know about reactionary Catholics, but the last time I was at mass the boomers were gushing over the two mestinks women, and the pajeet and hatian families (one of each) that showed up in a small White rural town.
They all but ignored our group of youngish White males who came at the request of someone who attends mass regularly and is involved with many other social gatherings in the church.
That was my experience going to Catholic schools, unfortunately. So many Haitians and Cubans get scholarships and handouts because they’re brown and can throw a ball or whatever, but white families have to work two jobs to keep their kids enrolled.
My high school especially was a “train your replacement” situation. The older Anglo/Irish/Spanish teachers and administration, who themselves were alumni, were mentoring and advocating for a largely Caribbean and Latin American student body. And the whites who didn’t act like wiggers or scumbags were basically invisible or were joked about as being secret school shooters and other blood libels.
I don’t attend mass often. I liked the last church, and felt the Holy Spirit within, but not significantly more than private prayer at home.
My nearest parish is liberal despite being in a “conservative” town, and has a pajeet priest. No thanks, I’d rather not.
