I finished Ariel Toaff’s ‘Passovers of Blood’ very recently, like a month ago. Toaff is a Jewish-Italian professor of Medieval and Renaissance history, with a focus on the history of Italian Jews. Basically, the history of Italian banking. He has incredibly in-depth knowledge of all the Jews local movements.
That said, while the book’s summary basically says “there might be something to this ritual child murder thing” — the contents of the book itself nails them to the wall. They did that shit. It’s pretty unambiguous.
It’s actually kind of funny. Jesus is even sympathetic towards the pagan Romans that are laughing at him. Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” He knows that they have know idea what’s really happening and are just doing what they would do in regards to anyone being executed.
I don’t care if people want to be dismissive of Spengler because there’s some Jewish grandparent and he’s a mischling. His writing has value, and JEWS were hugely dismissive of it. Religion,(and Christianity more specifically), is often boiled down to being purely utilitarian in these circles which ironically nullifies it’s authentic(though secondary), utilitarian benefits on a societal level. It’s Sisyphean in the extreme.
