In Germany today they still let people know they are dumbshits, midwits and bright. When you are a kid there will come a time when they split you up based on your smarts. Some kids go to (Hauptschule) thats basically for dumbshits and those kids will do low skill jobs in the future. Then there is (Realschule) thats for midwits those kids will do mid level jobs in the future and then the smart kids will go to (Gymnasium) those kids will be future doctors, lawyers and engineers..

The guy calling Campbell’s outfit a “fag outfit” wasn’t the protagonist, Pilgrim, he was the angry bad guy character who ends up [ redacting ] Pilgrim at the end of the story (belated spoiler warning).

If that is a reference to something it went over my head (I have not watched the movie in decades). The older, fat-ish character who is anti-Nazi and is berating Campbell in that scene is the schoolteacher who is acting as Pilgrim’s father figure. I haven’t read the book but there is a scene in the Slaughterhouse 5 movie where a pro-WWII guy is going off against the Dresden anti-bombing narrative and the character specifically mentions David Irving in his tirade. Said character denies there was anything bad about the bombing and besides the Germans deserved it because Holocaust, etc.
There was a brief opening for anti-war skepticism and historical revisionism in the 1960s and early 1970s thanks to the Vietnam War. You even get a brief nod towards Pearl Harbor revisionism in The Godfather movie.
I had some high school history teachers circa 1980 who taught a fairly balanced view of WWII and the Holocaust wasn’t even discussed. As they would have been university students during and/or immediately after the Vietnam War, they got a much more nuanced education about WWII and didn’t automatically believe obvious war propaganda, as is expected today.
I remember my grandfather (an Army Airforce vet) admonishing me as a small child when I asked if the Germans were “the bad guys”. He said they were men fighting for their country like he was and the war was bad for everyone.
That was about the extent of his commentary about the war other than occasionally telling me about personal recollections of missions, like getting wounded twice by flak, and how it made him sick to see the bombs he dropped on a school they were told was a ball bearing factory through the bomb sight.
I think for YouTube a comment is a comment and the effect on the channel engagement metrics is the same. All engagement improves a channel’s metrics and SEO. The pro-holocaust debater would benefit from our guys trolling him short of reducing other engagement. Perhaps I’m wrong.

Bulldozer was being driven by a British soldier, and the corpses were typhus victims. Footage from after the camp was captured.
That was Belsen. It was raging with typhus. Some tens of thousands died there, with many of the deaths concentrated in 1945. People kept dying there after the British took it over. The original concentration camp atrocity films didn’t emphasize Jews at all. But the same footage was later recontextualized for “The Holocaust” era.
They always show that clip in a rapid fire slideshow in any movie that has some message about humanities cruel nature not worth saving blah blah blah
