Nah that’s cruel and fucked up. It’s also highly ineffective. I slaughter my own cattle and hogs and I use a firearm to dispatch them before draining the blood. On hogs I use a 9mm and for cattle I use a 20 gauge. If you’re using anything less powerful it’s cruel and not as effective. Bolt guns, .22’s, and “lethal” gas are cruel methods that shouldn’t be used on livestock let alone humans.
Saw a video a while back so I cant remember the farmer who did this, but he would literally shoot his cattle while they were with the herd eating a nice meal of hay. He said it’s the most natural and familiar environment so the animal has zero stress prior to death. Within a minute or two the other cows were basically back to eating the hay and the steak gets hauled away.

True. It takes 4-8 minutes for brain death to occur. Since beheading only severs your head from your body and creates no other trauma then your brain will live for several minutes. In order to cause instant death the heart or brain need to be destroyed.
