FTN 430: Tree Spiking Proteins

August 12, 2021 by Jazzhands McFeels

With Jazz conspicuously absent from hosting duties for no explicable reason, James and Alex solve the mystery of overpriced liquor before analyzing new studies on COVID vaccine efficacy and how the subscription-based healthcare model may be coming sooner than expected. Then, rural hospitals continue to close while healthcare profits hit record highs, nationwide EMS shortage, and new rules of engagement combine to make cities even more unlivable. After the break, the prep gets jettisoned to talk about European vs. American sports and car cultures, how farm consolidation changed the car and equipment market, Big Truck vs. Prius as substitutes for real identity, and a story about unrest in the forest (there’s trouble with the trees). All ahead on this midweek FTN!

Get behind the paywall to access the show!

See Frontierland!

Rally, especially group b, was the best motorsport of all time. F1 is safe and full of celebrities. Rally is death defying, more impressive, lower monetary barrier for entry for drivers and spectators. You set up in the woods with your French friends getting drunk as hell and playing chicken with 500 hp monsters.

James the miata is a 90’s teenage chick car. My boomer neighbor doesn’t know how I laugh at him for having a miata as his joy ride hobby car that he pays for storage of. Especially him being some burley blue collar guy. I don’t mind him but his wife is total shitlib with the signs in the yard and everything. Who never leaves the house because she is making bank watching other childless women’s dogs during the workweek. I would be nice to her but she is the type to tattle on others about racisms

Mazdas are awesome. I had a 1980 two door 323 panelvan, with a 13b turbo in it. Shit was so fun, weighed less than 1000kg. My mates called it the coffin on wheels. Miatas can easily take a 13b. This is how you unlock the real miata.

20B’s are nuts. I like your thinking. There were a few miatas, we called them mx-5’s in Australia, with 20B’s in them. MX-5’s were known as good track cars down here. My wagon just went fast in a straight line.

It’s the same here. That’s why neocohens are adverse to any public transport construction and maintenance. It’s literally the dindu delivery system and the further it spreads from the city it facilitates their access to areas they don’t belong. Until I moved back to a rural area I rode a bike year round, and a scooter for longer distance. I don’t like cars, and don’t want to fund the jewish insurance industry. Now I hardly ever leave my small town so not driving isn’t an issue. Unfortunately the mmmmbigtruck is because it makes biking along county highways a crapshoot at… Read more »

Not to get too deep into plandemic-posting, but did anyone else notice how nobody gave a shit about “anti-vaxxers” until shortly before covid happened? What I mean is, conspiracy theorists have been talking about anti-vax stuff for ages, and it started trickling into normie culture after Jenny McCarthy started talking about it in 2007. But if you check Google Trends, you’ll see that hardly anybody was searching for it until early 2019, at which point there was a massive spike for no apparent reason. Even with all of the vaccine shilling going on today, March 2019 had nearly twice as… Read more »

Glad I’m not the only one who noticed this. I started seeing this during the PewDiePie T-Series thing where a ton of his meme reviews featured anti-anti-vax memes. They were everywhere, seemingly out of nowhere. Antivaxers have been around for a long time but the internet seemed to collectively attack them all at once. It didn’t feel organic at all.

Hi! I don’t know if James or Alex read the comments but I actually work as an accountant who does auditing for pension plans and health care plans. The cost cutting was so serious and the lower overall costs from people not going to the doctor has led to every single plan this year reporting huge (millions even for small plans) in experience gains. Shows that even for people with insurance the restrictions have led to them not getting their healthcare.

Fire based EMS provides overall better outcomes for the patient. For example our department has more engines and ladder trucks than ACLS ambulances for transport so if an ambulance is out in service we have dedicated engines with ALCS equipment including drugs, ventilation equipment, ECG, ect and we can stabilize the patient until mutual aid shows up or our ambulance returns to service. I’ve seen this system in person save countless lives. It is also good to cross train and have a variety of skills. Not only can we do fire suppression, HAZMAT, MVA extraction, search&rescue, but we can also… Read more »

Okay in North Carolina even in counties that do the “county EMS” bit there are more fire stations than EMS stations and more fire engines than ambulances so Firefighters still have to pick up county EMS slack. An integrated system is the best approach. Not too mention it weeds out the wahhhmen and other minorities or at least makes it bearable. Most can’t pass the physical part of the Fire exam.

Let’s think about this for just one second: It somehow makes sense for the taxpayer when the local Fire/EMS combo service rolls a 900,000 $ ladder truck to grandma’s house because she took too much Novolog? It’s somehow good for patients to have a bunch of bored firefighters standing around while one of them takes a blood pressure and OH WAIT WE CAN’T ACTUALLY TRANSPORT. In what world is this gross mishandling of resources acceptable? Is it a code, is it a structure fire shit I can’t tell because the local fire department rolls 3 million dollars worth of fire… Read more »

DID YOU NEED A LADDER TRUCK TO GET THERE? No, you did not. You could’ve gotten in there in a response vehicle, your POV or better yet, an actual ambulance. This rationale is so short-sighted I can’t believe you’re making the argument. “Bro outcomes are improved why do you have a problem with me driving an M1 Abrams tank on scene?”

We have 25 fire stations our department operates. We have 30 ACLS ambulances staffed by two paramedics per each ambulance 24/7 365. At my station we have one ACLS ambulance, an Engine, a ladder truck, a tanker, and the battalion chief and captain’s SUV’s. If we receive a medical call for our area and our ACLS ambulance is out on scene with another patient or transporting them to the hospital then we respond in an engine and the battalion chief or captain will respond in their SUV’s in certain circumstances. Each engine at every department has ACLS equipment on it… Read more »

The neighboring county to ours has county EMS and each city has it’s own fire department. Their patient outcomes are exponentially worse than our county because we have integrated Fire-Rescue. Sure you use grandma’s blood sugar as an example but what happens when the ambulance at our station is out in service and someone gets into a car accident, has a fall, gets shot/stabbed, cardiac arrest, stroke, ect. Instead of waiting for a mutual department or another station to send an ambulance which could take 5 to 20 minutes we can respond in an engine with full ACLS capabilities minus… Read more »

Lol my town volunteer FD tends to get out to medical calls before the county hospital bandaid bus shows up. It’s exactly what you describe when some old timer falls and breaks a hip.

Half or more of the department also show up in their personal vehicles, stand around smoking in front of the residence waiting for the meat wagon lights flashing the entire time and block access for the people who live on the street for an hour or more.

It boils down to your geographical location and local government. In North Carolina 50 percent of counties have county EMS and local municipalities have their own Fire Department and in the county I am employed we are a Fire-Rescue department who responds to medical calls, fire calls, accidents, extractions, search&rescue, ect.

Can confirm about niggers attacking/robbing Firefighters/paramedics. We had two of our FF/Medics robbed(they stole the drug box from the ambulance two years ago) and earlier this year when we were responding to a house fire in the ladder truck which I was riding in got hit with several bullets. Niggers are incredibly violent towards any public safety official especially if you’re White which 90 percent of our department is White. Our drug boxes contain several narcotics/benzodiazepines which include ketamine, fentanyl, morphine, diazepam, and midazolam.
