I have a hunch that Jews wrote the book of Esther to justify betraying the Persian empire by siding with the Greek invasion. The book of Esther was then written in the Hellenistic era (note there’s also a Greek version) to justify their betrayal of a country (Persia) that according to them, saved them from Babylonian oppression.
