Also iirc there was a big movie at the oscars a couple years ago called Call Me By Your Name that was basically about a gay jew adult man in a relationship with another gay jew who was supposed to be 16 or something. It was easy to miss if you werent following the usual oscars drama but this was all presented as “…and its beautiful” in the media. Oh and funny enough the kid in the movie is that timothee chalamet actor who is playing paul in the nu-dune that’s coming out.

Another weird tonal shift in David Lynch’s Dune is the soap opera closing credits. All the cast airbrushed over the screen doing the ‘looking away, realising their being filmed, turning and smiling’. Like it was an episode of Neighbours or something
