I’m a volunteer fire fighter with CPR and AED training not even EMT basic. That being said if that tub of lard showed up and offered me assistance with a patient I’d tell her to make me a sandwich.
I wouldn’t because I would fear she would eat it first. I would inform her of the location of the nearest women’s shelters and rape crisis centers for when her black boyfriend beats the shit out of her.
Maybe it varies between jurisdictions but in my neck of the woods a person trained in first aid can help anyone in distress. Once you start aid you are not to hand over care of victim unless relieved by someone who can prove their credentials exceed your own. Obviously some fat cunt with no proof of anything on the sidewalk doesn’t qualify.
Generally speaking if I was doing CPR on a patient and someone else showed up and said they were CPR certified I would just trust them and tag out because CPR is very physically intensive and it’s good to trade off between compression sets so the person doing compressions doesn’t get too tired and start doing shallow compressions. But that’s if I was giving CPR to someone who needed CPR. It depends what state, city, or county you work in. I’m a firefighter/paramedic in the state of [redacted]. At my department we must be both firefighters and paramedics. We respond to, treat, and transport all patients with life-threatening injuries/medical conditions and all patients under the age of 18. Our county contracts out with a private EMS service who transports adult patients with non life-threatening injuries/medical conditions. This frees up our ACLS ambulances and paramedics from doing bs transports.

George Groid died at the hospital after resuscitative efforts failed not on the street or in the back of the ambulance. If he was in full blown cardiac arrest(asystole) on the scene and did not respond to chest compressions or epinephrine then they would notify med control and a doctor at the hospital calls it over the radio. They say they worked security at the same bar/night club but the owner of said establishment stated in the past that they worked together a few times and didn’t believe they had any interaction beyond that.
