Buy local is generally a good idea, however, many general stores carry brands run by large corporate Jewry. Everybody says bugs are a goid source of protein, but I grew up hearing my dad talk specifically about ants. According to him, ants are high in protein, folic acid and fiber.. He didn’t talk about eating other bugs. He did call crabs and shrimp bugs, though.
You know what else is high in protein, folic acid, and fiber? An all beef cheeseburger and a small side salad.
Yeah, dad would never have traded his beef for ants. He usually talked about it in the context of survivalism, along with how to use flint and steel, how to make gunpowder etc. Basically, if you are stranded in the wilderness and can’t catch any real food quick enough, it’s something you can use as a last resort, and its incredibly abundant.
