I’m surprised Mike doesn’t know about Sonic’s. When I was all about some fast food I was like Sven, always seeing the commercials but there were NONE around. This happened for years. By the time my town got a Sonic’s I had gotten serious about health and stopped eating fast food and now its shut down.

I work as a line cook currently, lost sous job from covid closure. skilled kitchen workers in fine dining make about 15-18$ an hour, its a kick right in my balls that the black assholes at taco bell would make a comparable wage. let me ask this, do you think those ppl in fast food are going to start ACTING like they get paid enough to care about your food?
High minimum wage might be okay if we were still in a system which encouraged high wages overall (no immigration, strong unions, women encouraged to be mothers and to stay out of the workforce, family wage, affordable family formation, protectionism, tariffs and industrial policy geared towards keeping jobs in the country, etc.). Under current circumstances high minimum wage distorts the wage scale and encourages automation and the gig economy.
