The story of the grinch is about someone who hates christmas for its consumerist appearance (which is reasonable), but is convinced in the end that despite christmas’s outward appearance of being a shitty and corrupted consumerist “holiday”, it’s still a wholesome celebration of that promotes social unity and community. In a sense, it is a critique of critics of what christmas has become.
In the end, it is a simple story that normalizes the secular, consumerist, modern version of christmas, over a christmas focused on Christ.

All of yesterday’s Jewish Christmas subversion was geared toward secularizing the holiday because they hate Christ and Christians. That accomplished, now the goal is to just overshadow it entirely — anyone else feel like they’re pushing Chhhhanukkah bullshit harder than ever this year?

The marriage ultimately dissolves some point between the third and fourth movies, but the first could be considered a Christmas win.

My father died last year, and I was going through his old DVDs and stuff recently. One that I took home was a set of old Dean Martin shows. Say what you want, but watching this shit that used to be primetime TV in this former country is hilarious af. I recommend looking for Dean’s Christmas specials on JewTube. There’s one with Sinatra and his family with Dean and his family. Virgin Sinatra has his three kids up against chad Dino’s 27 pups (or whatever it was). Anyway, at least Jewish subversion used to be entertaining…
