Yup, DC lines would be far too heavy because the resistance would require thick cables that would break under their own weight. Also the reason AC is more deadly is because it ignores the skin’s capacitance. Human skin has high resistance and a small amount of capacitance meaning that the skin creates an isolating barrier between two electrical conductors (the outside world and your low resistance flesh). Capacitors block DC, but not AC thus meaning AC is more “deadly.” You can stick high voltage AC or DC on your body and get the same result (but don’t).
