have the same error in brave despite all settings under the protected content menu being allowed.
Fixed it, needed to go to extensions in brave and enable the widevine option, then you get a popup visiting the site, click allow and voila.

I got it to work in Firefox on Linux Desktop. Type about:addons in the URL bar, go to plugins, and enable Widevine Content Decryption Module.
FWIW: Desktop, Windows 10, Brave works just fine.
Additional cool thing about the new player: You can set to 1.5 speed!! Woot! Micro machine guy voice mike and Sven!

The solution was found, DuckDuckGo App for iOS plays perfectly and seems to be a more private and secure option than Google chrome.
