Only people who have been on 4chan since the early days of 2005-2006 understand just how prevalent the furry menace has been even since then. I hold that the furry community actually normalized the idea of transgender for many people rather than it being the other way around.
As good as the internet has been for waking us up, its easy to forget that it also normalizes mental illness in these people. I personally knew a normal guy who got exposed to that via 4chan and chased furrydom to transgenderism to suicide. I dont think you’re wrong.
