Yesterday at work I closed the store by myself while my black co-worker sat around watching that video and laughing.
COVID-19 has been a blessing. Took months off work and got paid more than what it would have otherwise by collecting unemployment + grants. I used the time and money for a certification and now I can get a better job. I also used the time off to strengthen my relationship with my girlfriend. I hope my borthers here came out on top of this situation. I advise people to carry pepper spray and use it VERY early on in any incident. I’ve used mine before. Someone got in my face and I sprayed him immediately. He was in pain for a very long time is imagine because a wiff got into my eyes and it hurt a little for a few hours.
You might as well carry a firearm. OC spray simply doesn’t work many times especially if someone is loaded up on stuff. it also requires you to be a certain distance that also happens to put them in grabbing distance as well.
And the fact is if you get arrested for a hate crime for defending yourself they can go at you for assault with a chemical/caustic agent which pretty much carries the same weight as a firearms charge you’re catching felonies and looking at multiple years probably double digits.
Other people tend to use pepper spray that is not nearly as strong as mine for whatever reason.
OC spray the stuff law enforcement uses you can purchase it in most states some states it’s a no no and you have to use a super watered-down version of it which is basically just splashing taco sauce at someone’s face, or just old school “mace” which uses Phenacyl chloride which is far weaker and will not cause the inflammation which causes the blinding that OC (oleoresin capsicum) will cause.
