I had bad back problems for a while, went to a chiropractor and it helped me. GO FIND A GOOD CHIROPRACTOR SVEN, also use ice, heat will inflame the muscles and make things worse even if it feels better at first. Also, you should get a foam roller or have your wife massage it.

Sven. Stop or severely limit doing squats, there are numerous good alternatives. Pistol squats come to mind. Did squats for years, the lost time in recovery was never compensated by some gains in back or glute strength.

DDP Yoga is the greatest thing for destroyed backs/knees/ankles/whatever. He designed it to help rehab his destroyed back. It’s a simple workout you don’t need equipment for that will never injure you, and in fact strengthens your back, knees, shoulders, etc.
Your back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles will feel better after every workout. Even the arches of my feet and toes feel better. Just try it Sven. It’s not gay.
Tried it, hardest workout in years. Gives you a real buzz afterwards too.

Sven, If you hurt your back doing heavy barbell back squats with good form; itβs likely your spinal erector muscles are underdeveloped for your strength. I would recommend exercising them every morning. Your back will actually feel better as well. Also whenever you do get back into squatting; try box squats for a while. They are a bit safer.

Sven, you must likely aren’t bracing properly or at all. This needs to be done before every rep, especially on heavy lifts. Belts are for improving the ability to brace, not necessarily to protect your back, although back protection is a result of good bracing. The easiest way I can explain it is: 1. Take breath into your stomach from the bottom up. You should feel expansion in your abdominal region as well as low back. This should feel vastly different than breathing through your chest. 2. This is probably total bullshit or placebo but if I ever have some back pain or an injury I’ll go soak up the sunshine and get a light tan and it seems to help reduce my pain and recovery time quite a bit. My logic is getting a nice megadose of the old vitamin d probably does some good shit for you. It’s even better to do in a forested area because there’s alot of microbacteria I believe that are shown to reduce cortisol and inflammation and have alot of health benefits.
