The term “jogger” is archaic. So called joggers refer to themselves as “runners” and participate in runs such as 10k Run, 20k Run, Fun Run, etc.. The term “runner” has connotations for people of color since this would imply the runner was running from something, namely pursing cops, not toward some athletic goal.
You have to be able to run at a decent pace before runners accept you as one. I realize this is beside the point you’re making.
Perhaps the military calls the running portion of physical training “run” despite what self described runners think of others? Your story reminds me of swimmers that refer to guys that swim twenty mile open ocean swims using side-stroke with fins as something other than “swimmers” because they’re really not training to be combat swimmers…..

I understand, man. Thing is, as Mike said, we can’t allow them to completely pathologize us without pushback. Boomer Cop Daddy will be used to pathologize the white southerner archetype, and that is a big fuck up on his part alone. Whether he gets convicted or not does not depend on us. Sven I can say regarding SA they are crumbling down but there are still a bunch of white people working tirelessly to slow the process. I know this family where the daughter is a total shitlib who works for international outreach in SA which as far as I can tell is just welfare for other countries.
