Joshua trees take an incredibly long time to reach the arborescent form they’re so well known for. They’re basically just yucca plants that are able to grow into a tree-like habit, and they only grow in a very small range of the American southwest. Im gonna reply-guy the CO-question, since I was part of the well actually conversation last Week. If I recall the Mike lie was that CO was an input not an output. The Formula for incomplete combustion is: biomass +O2 = H20 + CO2 +CO + C + whatever’s left

Gas generator. Heat wood in a container (usually a barrel) with limited oxygen, it gives off CO. The CO is then routed to a car engine and will run the engine. It won’t run all that well, but better than nothing.

CO is not the only combustible product of the woodgas generator. It also produces things like hydrogen and methane.

Solar works it just depends on what you mean by works. It’s wildly inefficient so it only really works for small scale applications. For example, people who live off grid and rely on solar for power generation, tend to make out ok. The best way to do it is to set up a battery bank to store power. Solar and wind just aren’t there yet for large scale usage.
