The Sinatra propaganda video reminds of some other WWII era anti-racist propaganda I’ve seen. A couple of anthropologists (Boas disciples) wrote a pamphlet for the US military called “The Races of Mankind.” It was distributed to US soldiers. They made a cartoon for it in 1946 called “The Brotherhood of Man.” It makes the same argument about blood as they do in the Sinatra video. It also makes disingenuous appeals to religious principles and of course they go out of their way to say Jews aren’t a race.

Nm guys, I hate to break it to you but with regards to the holocaust and diesel/gasoline engines. Almost all the german ground and aviation equipment ran on gasoline. The trucks, the tanks, the planes. It helped simplify the logistics, just like how the military now days tries to run everything on JP8/Diesel. The British, and American forces also primarily ran on gasoline as well. Look up the Jerry Can compared to the British Flimsey. The T34 was a huge step up because it had a diesel engine. As a Northern European – yes Italians are lazier than we are. No, they don’t work as hard, they lack the Protestant work ethic. But their culture is also superior. I got to know a lot of meds during Erasmus and these people know how to enjoy life. They are social people and make great friends. They have passion. That’s why there’s the cliche of the Nordic girl falling for the med – they aren’t as stiff as we are. That’s the strength of a federated Europe. We get the best of all worlds.

How is it better to speak 50 different languages and have a ton of petty ethnic strife while getting dominated by global powers and overwhelmed with third worlders?

Most of us, at least in Western Europe, can communicate just fine in English nowadays. The federation is there to project power OUTWARDS, primarily against America. It’s there to secure resources for Europeans, it’s there because as small nation states we are divided and easily man-handled by malicious forces like America.
In the north maybe, but theres still plenty of french, spaniards, russians etc. that still cant speak english beyond the most basic. Im not suggesting we have to ban our own cultures, but you cant form a functional federation if theres no genuine kinship between the people, and a common tongue is crucial for that. Everyone brought something to the table and I think we all left the place feeling more European than before. I don’t know how many times I have to repeat myself saying this: all the negatives that you just listed already exist in the nation states. Furthermore, Americans will read ‘minorities’ and think of Mexicans. European minorities tend to be other European ethnic groups like Germans in Holland or Germans in France or Serbs in Croatia or Swedes in Finland etc. It’s not as big of a deal as you make it out to be.
