Borzoi and Alex McNabb pack as much talk as they can into a 4 hour episode as they can on Blade Runner, Blade Runner 2049, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and Snatcher.

It’s pretty hard to squish grubs in the mud. Also grub farmer is wearing a full biohazard suit and oxygen supply while working… maybe alien larva species?
I think Harrison Ford messing up the voice-over on purpose is an urban legend. In interviews he always says that he did what he could given the circumstances. It was written after the test screening by a different guy, and it was probably recorded in one session without much context, that’s why it came out the way it did.
There was actually a Blade Runner PC game that came out in 97. It was a very in-depth point and click adventure game that immersed you into to Blade Runner world. You played another blade runner and the story was original and ran parallel with the original movies story. Very well made for its time.
They cover the game in this episode. I haven’t got to it yet, but they say it in the beginning.
You meant Snatcher, my bad. I think the Blade Runner PC game is interesting too with it’s multiple endings ans different paths depending on the choices you make. It incorporates some ideas from the book too, like the focus on animals, the protagonist gets framed for murder and taken to a fake police station, etc.
I really enjoyed this. Borzoi and Alex both brought a lot of thought provoking analysis. Now I might have to rewatch these movies… Which is not normally how I feel after a poz button episode. Fantastic job guys.
I walked away from 2049 with the feeling that replicants outnumbered the human population
I listened to this for 2 hours and 40 minutes nodding my head along but when you mentioned Joi and asmr I jumped up yelling “yes!” You hit the nail on the head. Back when I was sleeping around I used asmr to fill the emptyness and lack of non sexual affection. And while searching for asmr girls I inadvertently found asmr joi and almost got addicted to the point that I stopped banging tinder thots. Luckily I broke the habbit before it was too late. But it is extremely addictive and kept me out of dissident politics as well… Read more »
What is a human? Is Laurence Fishburne human?
I love Adam Jensen’s apartment
Gotta say, finally finished listening to this review on second try.
Felt asleep in the middle of Dick posting, then woke up with Jerk Off Instruction part.
Kinda like my first time watching Blade Runner.
Great episode
This made my commute over the weekend exponentially more enjoyable ✊?
Do NPCs dream of electric sheeple?
You guys seem to fall into the “history channel” mistic version of the SS. Read books of German soldier experiences, especially ex-SS and all that will disappear. No dehumanizing, pagan, brain washing, just motivated soldiers fighting for a cause.
Start with “The Forgotten Soldier” by Guy Sajer (idea for review?).
I wonder how many different stories could cone out of the world of Blade runner based on how different characters deal with the world they were thrown into, along with how the world was destroyed and brought to the point of needing to get offworld to survive
Back for the third time to polish off the last 1.5 hrs or the review. Just thought I would say I enjoyed listening to Borzoi and Alex on this topic. You nerds got a good dynamic between the two of you, a very nice listen 10/10
I remember reading Phillip K. Dick relied heavily on adderal for his creativity
was the inspirational art of syd mead not discussed?
he died just before the new year.
Great ep 2049 would have been far better as a spin-off or spiritual successor the harrison ford insertion borderline ruined it
Great episode. Near the end of the episode there was the discussion about existential ideas and it made me think back to 2016, the election was a kind of pagan ritual, or as Kantbot put it “fulfilling German idealism”. The “we are going to make our country great again” said with pathos is actually still very powerful. Derivative memes from this were things like “Trump is going to make anime real” and the meme magic thing in general. We were going to make it real by will alone.
Borzoi, what do you consider the definitive way to watch Blade Runner? I’ve only seen it once almost 10 years ago and now I really want to re-watch it (pretty sure it was director’s cut- there was no narration). Director’s Cut? Final Cut? I’ve never heard anything good from the theatrical cut (and it sounds like you agree) but is there any value in seeing it?
RIP in peace Syd Mead….
Great episode boys. one of my favorites by far.
I know you hate recommendations Borzoi, but i thought the format of this episode was great and I just have to say how perfect it would work with DUNE; with analysis of the book, the David lynch adaptation and Denis Villeneuve’s new remake coming out this year.
I know Sven has been bashing the remake for some of its casting decisions but i think Denis Villeneuve is an interesting director without much POZ in his work, especially when you look at movies like Sicario and Blade Runner.
Spencer’s take on BladeRunner was also very good — https://www.spreaker.com/user/altright/less-human-than-human
It’s two hours of Mark Brahmin talking about how everything about the movie is Jewish and Christianity is bad.
Not for nothin, this was a classic Poz Button, more or less.
Review starts at 62 minutes
HE’LL YEAH
These niggas better not pan 2049.
So I laughed real hard at you guys saying that the original bladerunner was better than 2049 while at the same time admitting that 2049 was more emotionally resonate with the audience.
Do people unironically like Abigale Shapiro? Honestly just kill yourself if so. JFC.
She has the greatest ratio of cute frontal face to ugly yid beak side view ever.
When she’s in makeup
And milkers are showing
I’m home with the flu was there a third rail today
Hope it’s not the Kung Flu.
Postponed until tomorrow.

“How many electricians do you know that are mentally deficient?”
Not cool man. The paranormies aren’t THAT grug brained
Sparky here. I know a few seriously deficient electricians.
Borzoi, I’m curious, is the Boscovich in your handle a reference to Ruggero Guiseppe Boscovich? I’ve just recently become acquainted with his work, A Theory of Natural Philosophy (1758), it’s astounding.
two of my favorite bros talking about PKD for four hours? well slap me in the ass and call me sally. this is fantastic!
The download link directly below the embedded player worked for me, although I did have to copy and paste the episode title to replace the gibberish filename
Borzoi, would you consider yourself a Big Dick Fan?
Well shoot me with a pink laser.
Borzoi I’m sorry to always be the pronunciation nerd but it’s AFF-ect…… shallow AFFect, stress on first syllable…….. why on Earth the psychological crowd decided to create another new meaning for the word “affect” (as in to affECT something), when there was already so much confusion with effect (like the effECT one creates, or to effECT an AFFectation lol) – completely bonkers…. but yes, the noun ‘affect’ stresses the first syllable
sorry lolz
great stuff guys!!!!!!!
CHA grin
This is a wonderful conversation, so many innovative turns. For what it’s worth, I couldn’t agree more about the necessity of vitalism for any form of usable feminism or even basic female dignity. The TERF-wars are definitely something we have to wade in on. Didn’t realise you liked Kafka. I’ll be honest, I’m still on the journey and so I’m experiencing some serious problems relating to Jewish artists, certainly including Kafka but also Mahler/Mendelssohn, and I do hope to get over it. I darecen’t re-read Broch’s “The Sleepwalkers” while I’m in this mindset, but do you like it by any… Read more »
I met Rutger once briefly at a convention. Nice guy. Got his autograph.
RIP Rutger Hauer
It’s good. But my sponsored “M” episode is still the best.
