The Expanse was incredibly poz’d, they made that take off. Sven might be right.
The books were just as poz’d as the show. In fact the books were worse, because the books went into excruciating detail about the various blends people were. The show (couldn’t get past Season 1 because of the low quality acting) just had brown people. I don’t really care, most people are brown, and there’s gonna be product about them. I think the fundamental reason for reboots like this Dune thing is to convince young white guys that breeding with non-white women is the future. That is an interesting idea. I always saw the House Etrides as more of the Anglosphere, but I would be interested to hear your take. When I first read the novels, my own bias, probably because I was reading alot about the historical period, was that the Harkkonen were Romanesque with their decadence and the Baron behaving more like an Emperor than the Emperor himself. Although emperor Padasha was the one with the crack legion Praeotorian like special forces troops.

At the risk of being thought of as a Dune sperg the Fremen were Zensunni would implies they probably weren’t White. But on the other hand the Atredies were of Christian ancestry. The books do not mention whether they practiced Christianity. There is no mention of it. They probably didn’t since the practicing of any religion by them was ever mentioned. Interesting take… What do you believe is the derivation of the Bene Gesserit? People argue both the pro and con that they are representatives of a modern female Jesuit offshoot. Outside of objectively “Do the Right Thing” and possibly “X”, what is an exceptional movie that Lee has made? I enjoyed “Summer of Sam” and “25th Hour”, but there was nothing particularly dynamic about them. Wes Anderson has always come across a tryhard with his attempt to make everything as quirky as possible purely because it fits his style. The word overrated was specifically created to reference Spike Lee and to a lesser extent, but still valid degree, Wes Anderson………. Nolan and Clint are both solid

I’ll give Oscar Issac props for his performance in Ex-Machina. He’s actually Guatemalan with some French blood. Not Jewish, though his character in Ex-Machina was obviously Jewish and he played it like a Counter-Semite would. Not a favorable portrayal of a Jew. He was so obnoxious.

Yeah, if they’re like 95% white or higher, I’d be fine with them immigrating to the US or Canada. I guess, though, many of them feel like it’s better to reign in hell than serve in heaven.
Also, best portrayal of a super smart person. Athletic, careless, amoral and now matter how drunk they get they always do everything 10 times better than you. It’s admirable but also a bit annoying.
