This summer I drove on the Saw Mill River Parkway for the first time. Was near the end of 5 hour drive. It’s worse when everyone on the road except you is familiar with the next turn, exit, traffic light, etc. I did not arrive at my destination refreshed and relaxed.. From the little I saw, however, it looked like pleasant (and wealthy) country…

I love local highway posting. Ended up in Jersey City once when I was driving to Flahriduhr and missed my turn. I hated driving that NJ Turnpike to Garbage State Pkwy. Eventually I started taking the detour through PA to I81(?) The roads are kind of crappy and the gas is more $ (plus you have to pump it yourself), but at least you’re not in NJ.
