Great show. It was either last show or two shows ago when you all were talking about fictional representations of the collapse. Herman Hesse’s Magister Ludi depicts a version of a, say, collapse-averted world. What happened to bring about the change in that world was that once people got so stupid that planes started falling out of the sky they decided they had to get serious about preserving knowledge. This reminds me of the late night drive talks Spectre did a few years ago.
Like the bitabout carrying the fire. Sometimes I feel just as hopeless as the Boy and the Man, but that story makes want to keep going no matter what, if only for my son. As sad as that story is, it is inspiring nonetheless.
