I checked out the Wikipedia entry for the German Workers Front and it’s clear who ever wrote the article was extremely butthurt about it and went to great lengths to explain how it supposedly stomped all over the workers. I would be interested in hearing/reading the opposite perspective because it’s obviously one-sided.

In regards to the striking workers, we must support them. Sometimes I get a little annoyed with so and so on, but in reality auto workers are literally our body and blood in this nation. We have to support our workers, whether lineman, ranchers, shelf stockers, vehicle assemblers, whatever it is. Stay at home mom. Whatever it is. If someone has so much money that they can bribe everyone at every level of the State they are a threat to the People and the State, it’s not just because they have an arbitrary amount of money that they accumulated through a historical anomaly

I tried watching the matewan movie, I thought it was just promoting the multi-racial working class propaganda imo. You even have James Earl Jones playing the aw shucks negro character. The director John Sayles is a communist and he inserted that plot element to suit his ideology, but to my knowledge that aspect of the story is fictionalized. Of course the immigrant/negro subplot plays no part in the final resolution of the story, which is 100% based on fact. The important takeaways from the film are how the union during that period organized inside company towns, the methods the companies used to control workers, the tactics they used to thwart union organizing etc. All are still used and very much in play today when it comes to organizing White nationalists… Read more »

The problem with the 5-day Work Week is that it’s an anachronistic relic of a bygone era where it was expected that the Wife would be the one carrying out chores, shopping, shepherding children etc. A literal home maker if you will. Today both husband and wife are not only EXPECTED to be coequal wage slaves; They are FORCED to do so by Capitalism.
My boss gets three hours a day of genuine brain power out of me. After that it’s a waste of time.
3 or 4 day work weeks would be ideal:
3×10 hour days (Tues,Wed,Thurs or Mon,Wed,Fri)
or
4×7.5 hour days (Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri)
Money spent on days off would give a huge boost to the service sector.
