Pedophilia and Postmodernism

Here at TRS, we are always scanning the rhetorical horizons in an effort to keep America safe and prosperous. Language holds the keys to the kingdom, and how we define words often dictates our reactions. This is the primary reason that political correctness is a pox upon our house. Often, this redefining is offensive to the sensibilities of most citizens, and serves only to further the “progressive” ideas of small, deviant sections of the populace.

Away from the prying eyes of America, liberal academia has been busy scheming over one such subversion: the legitimization of pedophilia.

Outrageous, you say? Let’s take a look at the logic, and I am certain you will find it familiar. In 1886, Austro-German psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing, in his “Psychopathia Sexualis,” defined pedophilia as a pathology indicated by a mental state which ultimately traced to a brain disorder. This definition has been widely accepted ever since, with the implication being that pedophilia was something that could be treated and eventually cured. Indeed, the vaunted American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) has listed pedophilia, at various times, as a sexual deviation, a sociopathic condition, or non-psychotic medical disorder. All of which could, theoretically, be treated.

However, in the fall of 2013, the DSM made an about face and listed pedophilia as a sexual orientation. There was no fan-fare to accompany the change, but when questioned by several news agencies about the reclassification, the APA issued a “correction” and changed the definition back to a disorder. So why does this matter? I broke out my trusty TRS Degeneracy Decoder Ring™ to get to the heart of the matter.

James Cantor, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, is one of the leading “sexologists” studying pedophilia. In a New York Times report on December 22, 2014, Cantor states that after ten years of research, he has concluded that the evidence he gathered shows that pedophilia may indeed be a sexual orientation that cannot be cured. He asserts that the brain of a pedophile is hard-wired to be sexually attracted to children. This means it cannot be cured, and therefore society must learn to accept the pedophile. So called “inter-generational sex” is normal, he claims.

Does any of this sound familiar yet? It should. It is exactly the same logic used to mainstream homosexuality. Pedophilia even has a cool buzzword for all the trendy liberals to status signal with.

Also in the New York Times (October 15, 2014), Margo Kaplan, an assistant law professor from Rutgers University and former ACLU lawyer, penned an op-ed in which she argued the pedophiles deserve special protection under U.S. law. Pedophilia is currently explicitly excluded from protection by The Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. These acts prohibit discrimination against otherwise qualified individuals with mental disabilities.

The obvious end-game to all of these linguistic games is to achieve equal protection and forced social acceptance for pedophilia, much the same as is being attempted for homosexuality, by invoking 14th Amendment protections and special privileges for a newly defined “oppressed class” of individuals. As usual, the “progressive” concern is not for the well-being of society, but rather for the erosion of our moral foundation in favor of a watered-down soft degeneracy of acceptance.

We have a duty, both as individuals and society at large, to prevent such an erosion and to protect our children. I would submit to you all that allowing these clear distinctions to fade will only have disastrous results for America. There is no need to invoke the slippery slope fallacy when the pattern is clearly established by our would-be liberal overlords.

There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be fixed by crushing modern liberalism.
