Cathy Reisenwitz is the new Rebecca Watson.

I’ve predicted for a while now that it’s only a matter of time before Cathy Reisenwitz, eager eyed young feminist and rent-seeker extraordinaire, finally achieves her life long ambition of being paid to speak at a conference of neckbearded libertarian social outcasts only to be clumsily hit on by one of the smellier basement dwellers while riding an elevator. This will allow her to realize her ultimate end game of ranting about patriarchal oppression at the hands of the male dominated libertarian community and kick off an ideological civil war inside of the liberty movement, eventually spawning Libertarian + with Reisenwitz ascending to the throne as their chief representative.

Resistance is futile.
Resistance is futile.
We’ve all been here before, haven’t we? Where have I seen a similar tale of a mildly attractive female hijacking a collection of socially awkward nerds to soapbox her pet social justice issues before? Ah yes, Rebecca “Skepchick” Watson. Like Libertarianism, New Atheism is also a fresh group of quasi-intellectuals which appeals to younger white males predominately, and even shares some of the same media personalities, such as Pen Jilette. As others on TRS have noted, collections of male dominated groups are especially appealing to rent-seeking feminist types, since their pointy little noses easily sniff out the wafting fragrance of so many virgin resources waiting for extraction. The lack of female competition makes them all too eager to stake out a claim on the territory and start mining it for public speaking fees and free social approval from sex deprived yet mostly harmless desperate males, preferably before some other opportunist leaps onto the scene.

A sound strategy by any estimation.
A sound strategy by any estimation.
This bring us to Skepchick, who, just like Cathy Reisenwitz, decided to tell the atheist community that they had a Woman Problem. No, not a Woman Problem in the sense that rentseeking feminist twats were attempting to infiltrate their social club, a Woman Problem in the sense that they were *refusing to take the greedy little harpies seriously enough. *In June 2011 after blathering about plumbline feminist garbage in the World Atheist Convention, an apparently undesirable male asked Rebecca Watson if she would like to further discuss her droll gender-theory regurgitations in the privacy of his hotel room over coffee. She declined, then used this opportunity as a rhetorical springboard to start preaching about sexism in the secular movement again. Apparently there are indeed some skeptical atheists out there despite appearances to the contrary, and this approach lead to a firestorm of intellectual opposition to her patently obvious victim complex, including such choice morsels as the following:

* “Since when are respecting women as equals and showing sexual interest mutually exclusive?”*

Watson of course fired back with the sort of Marxian class consciousness crap that every modern feminist keeps loaded in the chamber and accused the other party of “parroting misogynistic thought” and escalated her accusations of widespread hatred of women among the atheist movement. This eventually kicked off a civil war in which even Richard Dawkins himself trolled the shit out of little miss Watson by diminishing her struggles with a surprisingly hilarious satire about Muslim women and Sharia Law. In the endgame, various moronic male feminists like PZ Meyers joined with Watson and they formed their own authoritarian and extremist critical theory enclave, calling it “Atheism +”, where they could at last escape the vengeful rhetorical guns of so many mainstream atheists.

Cathy Reisenwitz seems to be aware of this blueprint for notoriety, and is actively engaging in the same exact tactic of “raising awareness” in the liberty movement by publicly whining about “privilege” and “sexism”. She knows full well that the Rothbard and Mises crowd, already full of skeptical neckbearded “thinkers”, will start dissecting her hamfisted statements and descend into full-blown nerd rage about the irrational feminist premises contained within. As more Cheetoh stained fingers pound keyboards, this will at last culminate in a glorious self-fullfilling prophecy where Reisenwitz herself has the privilege to receive rape-threats and blatant misogyny from Libertarian trolls everywhere. Finally she can achieve every feminist’s dream; perfect victimhood at the hands of patriarchal oppressors while simultaneously seizing upon the sympathies of various ideological white-knight allies. *The irony that these groups would normally just shower social approval and plenty of attention on  people like Reisenwitz simply for participating at all is more than a little juicy. *You would think that the “lived experiences” of people like Cathy and Rebecca would point towards male dominated nerdgroups being unusually receptive of young females, but a reality like that is a lot less rhetorically useful than cataloging rape-threats and blatant misogyny.

* Only time will tell how much longer Libertarianism + will incubate inside Cathy’s womb, but I say we abort the bastard now. *
